Make your day, my day!

(^.^) Paid Adv

So on the 13th of November, Singapore celebrated World Kindness Day for the first time! I was very honored to be part of Singapore Kindness Movement as I was able to make someone's day.

World Kindness Day is also celebrated in countries such as Canada, Japan, Australia, Nigeria and United Arab Emirates. Hence to be able to be part of this event in Singapore... my, my, it was mind blowing!

More than 500 people volunteered to make someone's day. We were all given a few stalks of Yellow Daisies, where it is said to be the fifth most popular flower in the world, to pass it on to the next person just to see them smile!

Bloggers gracing the event!

In case you are wondering, just a simple Thank You, is already kindness shown. So next time you are at your favourite Macds ordering your food, remember to say your Pleases and Thank Yous~!

According to Channel News Asia (CNA), some 45,000 stalks were distributed! This is to motivate the public to show appreciation to someone who has been kind to them.
"Many were pleasantly surprised, while others were a little confused. Azizah Ahmad, volunteer, said: "At first they were a bit apprehensive... But after we explained it to them, they were so happy." One person said: "I think it is very interesting that you actually have this; it is like passing on a deed." Another commented: "Everybody is so busy with their life, and it does not take much, just a simple smile, just a simple flower. I think it will make somebody's day."" - CNA, 2011

Dr Yaacob Ibrahim andDr William Wan, General Secretary, Singapore Kindness Movement

Watch it groooowwww.

anddd blossommm...

Ta-da. Off we kick start World Kindness Day!

As excited as I am, I had to wait patiently for the event to start! We had Dr Yaacob Ibrahim and Dr William Wan, General Secretary, Singapore Kindness Movement grace the event. They had to water the yellow daisy to symbolize the start of the event. I had never been on the stage for an event like this before. It was such an experience!

Hold up. Before I continue. Let me tell you abit of the pre event!

Opening speech by The Chairman. He fed me with so much information on this Kindness Movement that Singapore adopted. Did you know we started in the 90s?? Well, I did not =/ I thought it was an indie thing or merely SG wanted to be different.

New Friends: Eileen and Emily + Jayne (from Nuffnang).

And yes, again, Thanks to Nuffnang for this wonderful opportunity!

All of us before we became wet and sticky under the hot sun.

Okay, back to the event!

I was saying that we were given yellow daisies. They are real, pretty and smell good!

Our first kindness "customers"! Although they didnt smile or look as happy as I was hoping in this photo but dont worry! They are!

I kept one flower to give to my brother, Alvin, who has helped me alot hese past years. He grew up so fast that sometimes I feel that hes not my brother, rather a friend! He works in town so who better to also give a yellow daisy to?

So what I am trying to say is, it doesnt matter who or what, it is important to show appreciation! Just say thanks, make someone's day!

Your incompetenacy is pissing the fuck out of me. I dont get how you dont understand simple instructions. Instructions that were given to the both of us at the same time had to be repeated to you by me just because you dont get it. Why is your ego so huge that you cant ask the person who is able to answer your question? Why cant you ask the damn question when instructions were given? What makes you think that I have to babysit your pride?

You are such an amazing human being, I fail to understand your existance.

Even more amazing how you managed to piss me off even when you are not in the office. If Harry Potter is real, you must be Lord Voldermot.

By the fucking way, I am not going to take your shit in anymore. So each and every fucking time you ask me again what is this and what is that, I am gonna shove them up your tiny little ass. Instead of complaining how hostile I had become, maybe you should unstitch your ears and listen carefully.

Secretly, I think you are retarded. I dont get how I understood what I am supposed to do and yet you dont. We got the same memo, tard.

Nuffnang Blog Awards, Here I Come

I am not the most hardworking blogger ever in town. I think I stopped putting in too much effort when I changed url for the 3rd time. Sometimes, I forget or ran outta things to say/blog about.

Most of the time, SSL is nothing but words words words. Who wants to read just words right?

However, I believe that there are people who enjoys my little segments here. Who also enjoys reading my angry posts. Who also enjoy reading my private life. Im guessing people also just enjoy this space because they can.

As a blogger (dont think i should use this but idk what else can I use), I am indebt to Nuffnang. Nuffnang gave me income, gave me exposures. It brought me to places I have not been to and events I can never imagine myself to partake in.

I want to head to KL to to attend the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards 2011 because

I might even finally get to see Ming (from afar cause I got a high school girl crush on him), the man behind Nuffnang!!

Ming!

3) I think after blogging for 8 years, I should at least had put in enough effort to win something huge like this. I always been humble and only apply for contest/events when I am sure I am able to attend. Even if I dont get to go this time round, I reckon Patience is a Virtue. One day, itd be my turn (but just dont make me wait too long?).

These, I believe. are medicore reasons as to why I should get to go KL to attend the Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards 2011. However, these are from the bottom of my heart.

Why I should not cut my hair

Hi, I am a girl.
I believe girls should have long hair that reaches their tits at any one point of their life.

It gives us the reason to push our hair one side and feel the breeze on the other side.

I can do one side fishtail or braids when I have long hair.

This is my version of Fraids.

I can tie my hair up like a cheerleader and still feel that my hair is long.

What I will miss the most if I cut my hair; putting them into a bun.

Last but not least, I am unable to do this:

HAPPY (POST) HALLOWEEN!

I have a problem

People who do not contribute yet say things like: "Like that also I can do. Just anyhow hamtam only", ticks me off. I'm not afraid to say that I got things started. I am not the best employee neither am I the most hardworking. However, my brain works just as fine (to know that I had the effort put in).

So do away with that smirk of yours and start telling me something that I already dont know that will help us complete this task!

Currently: Writing random things on a piece of recycled paper, squashing it and throwing it to the guy sitting next to me.

On a brighter note, its friday. Means I no need work. Means I can catch up on my tv shows!

And someone won 80K from Macds. Damn. He got his rebate.

Harajuku - young and carefree

(^.^) Paid Adv

One thing Life has thought me is that everyone comes from different background. Different walks of Life. Some good, some bad. It is not advisable to judge a book by its cover however, it is inevitable to do so.

Like the name of this space (Super Sticky Labels); labels that society had given us and we are unable to shake it off. Everyone judge. By your skin, how much money you make, your clothes. Yes, your clothes.

Each and everyone of us has our own unique style and presence which, we like to portray ourselves to be. Its kinda like living in a imaginary world. For example, I love Gossip Girl. I loved to be a Blair Waldorf. Season 1's B is leggings and hairbands. Despite Singapore's weather, I sometimes escape into B's world by dressing up like her, pretending that I live in the Upper East Side.

Serena and Blair

Of course, I got the looks. Just because I am not dressed like everyone else. I am not shy to say this but I own two pairs of boots and wear them out when its raining or when its cold outside.

I have the grey one for this design.
I have this exact pair which brings me countless of confused stares whenever I wear them out.

You might also wonder I speak soo much about judgements, do I ever give judgements out? In all honesty, I do. I hated J-pop and K-pop (then, later I spotted myself jumping to Beast and 4 minute concert last year. Yes, I am a convert.)

Thanks to the lovely people of Nuffnang, I saw a different side of Japan Street Style. I used to think that they are cosplaying all the mothertoading time and it disgust me so much. Seriously, why do you have to put so much makeup, so much clothes on and the hair! Omg the hair!

Too much clips and piercings.
Too much hair dye. Too much on the contact lenses.
I really dont know how to comment on this.

Because I am still new to this concept, I cannot, for the life of me, differentiate between the Japan styles available out there. So please forgive me if I am wrong! But here are some styles that caught my eye!

Shows that girls on the other side of the scale can also be fashionable!
I love how colour clash this outfit is!
Reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. Mad hatter and Queen of Hearts.
I really could see myself walking in town with this look!
Simple yet also street style. Not too much. Not too little.

My Harajuku style is on the hippie and simple side.

Again, the lovely people of Nuffnang, invited some of us to attend the Harajuku Street Style Launch Party!

Fashion show gonna start soon! Look at the number of media!
I am convinced that Harajuku look good on every race.
Cute outfits! (Special guest appearance!)

Host was Utt!
Bloggers who were on stage: Qiu Qiu, TypicalBen, Xiaxue, Cheesie.

Clothes that were on sale, display!

Spot HP shopping for clothes!

Harajuku featured brands such as Urban Research, DAMMY, Crystal Ball, Mystic, Rosebullet, etc can be found at Tangs Orchard Level 4!

I shall now leave you with Team Rocket ! It might be my Halloween costume.

Hermit

I havent been reading any blogs lately and I wonder who still come to this space. I kinda like talking to strangers so if you are here, HI!

Today, I decided to be random and tell you that I didnt head to the interview I was talking about 2 entries back.

"why not?"

Well, because I honestly felt that I wasnt ready. Wasnt good. Wasnt what they were looking for. Maybe in a year, I will tell myself to go for it again.

"then, meanwhile what are you going to do?"

It depends. I could just lay at home full time, learn American Sign Language (ASL) or buck up and find a job with full on passion.

"so the verdict is..?"

I am going to stay at home for the time being, learn ASL and go for the interview arranged for me on friday.

"what interview this time?"

Hopefully something to do with my diploma. Its to work at Ministry of Manpower. A bit of admin but if I am not wrong, I will put my diploma to some use.

"good luck"

Thanks.
